Terms of Service
Last updated: 28 October 2026
These terms govern your use of SafeAgree at safeagree.org and of the SafeAgree browser extension (together, "the service"). By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use it.
1. Who we are
The service is operated by Lucas Mari Dreyer, an individual based in Brazil ("we", "us"). Our contact details are in section 14. How we handle your data is described in the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.
2. The service
SafeAgree lets you paste the text of a Terms of Service, privacy policy or similar agreement, upload it as a file, or give us its web address. The text is sent to a third-party AI model, which writes a structured plain-English summary with numbered citations back to the passages it relied on, a risk verdict, and, if you leave the deep-scan option on, a second pass that looks for anything the first summary missed. The browser extension does the same for the page you are viewing.
You must be at least 18 years old to use the service.
3. Not legal advice
- The summaries are generated automatically by an AI model. They are provided for information only. They are not legal advice, and using the service does not create any professional relationship with us.
- A summary can be wrong, incomplete, out of date, or can misread the document. The model may miss a clause, overstate one, or cite the wrong passage. The citations are there so that you can check every claim against the original text; please do.
- Only the first 40,000 characters of a document are analyzed with a premium model, and the first 15,000 with a free model. When a document is longer, the service shows a notice saying how much was read. The clauses that fall outside that window are simply not covered by the summary.
- Do not rely on a summary to decide whether to sign, accept, pay for or cancel anything. Read the original document, and consult a qualified lawyer where the decision matters.
4. Acceptable use
You agree to:
- submit only documents you are entitled to share, and not documents that contain other people's personal data or confidential information you are not allowed to disclose;
- not submit unlawful content, and not use the service to break the law or someone else's rights;
- not circumvent or overload the rate limits and daily limits, and not use scripts, bots or bulk requests against the service;
- not share, publish, sell or otherwise distribute a Pro key, and not use a Pro key that was issued to someone else;
- not interfere with the service, probe it for weaknesses, or attempt to access parts of it that are not offered to you (such as the operator's private pages).
We may block requests, addresses or keys that breach this section.
5. The free tier
- The free tier is open to everyone without an account and is served by third-party providers' free quotas. It is limited per IP address per hour and by a global daily cap on free analyses. The limits can change without notice.
- If the free provider you picked fails before it starts answering, the request is automatically sent to another configured free provider, and the page tells you which model answered. Which free models are offered depends on what the providers currently serve and can change without notice.
- We may reduce, suspend or withdraw the free tier at any time.
6. Pro credits
- What it is. Pro is sold as one-time packs of credits, at the prices shown on the site and at checkout. Each analysis with a premium AI model uses credits: the number is shown next to each premium model in the model picker, one for most models and more for the costliest. It is not a subscription and nothing renews.
- When credits are used. Credits are taken only when an analysis finishes. If an analysis ends in an error, no credits are used. Analyses with the free models never use credits.
- How long credits last. Credits do not expire. You can use them for as long as the service operates and you comply with these terms. If we discontinue the service, keys stop working with it.
- The free tier's daily cap. While your key covers a paid pack that has not been refunded in full, the free tier's global daily cap does not apply to you, even after your credits are spent. The per-hour limit per IP address still applies.
- Payment. Payment is by card, processed by Stripe on Stripe's pages. We never see your card details. The price is shown in US dollars unless the checkout page says otherwise; your bank may apply conversion fees.
- Delivery. Credits are delivered as a key that the site stores in your browser when Stripe sends you back to it after payment. After your first purchase the site shows you the key so you can save it and use it on another device. If you buy more while the site holds your key, the new credits are added to the same balance. If you closed the tab before returning, or later lose the key, use "Lost your key? Restore it" with the email address and the last four digits of the card you paid with; once we have confirmed the payments with Stripe, a new key is issued covering every credit purchase made with that email and card.
- Keeping the key. The key is a bearer credential: anyone who has it can spend its credits. Keep it private. Clearing your browser's site data deletes it; you can restore it as described above.
- Which models. The premium models available depend on which providers we have configured at the time. They can be added, replaced or removed as providers change their offerings. The model picker on the site always shows what is currently available, and packs are only offered while at least one premium model is.
- Lifetime unlocks bought earlier. Before credit packs, Pro was sold as a one-time lifetime unlock. Those keys keep working as sold: premium models without credits, and no free daily cap, for as long as the service operates. To protect the service against a leaked or shared key, a global daily ceiling on premium analyses applies to all such use together. In normal use you will not reach it.
- Refunds. See the Refund Policy. A refund removes the refunded credits from your balance; once every pack a key covers has been refunded in full, the key is no longer licensed and you must stop using it.
7. No accounts
The service has no user accounts and no passwords for visitors. Pro access is tied to the key alone, and recovery to the email address and card used at checkout. Your credit balance is kept in our Stripe account, on the Stripe customer record created at your first purchase. There is no profile to edit, and nothing to delete when you stop using the service, other than the data your own browser stores (see the Privacy Policy).
8. Your documents and the summaries
- You keep whatever rights you have in the documents you submit. You give us permission to process them, and to send them to the AI providers named in the Privacy Policy, for the sole purpose of producing your summary.
- You may use the summaries the service produces for any lawful purpose. Because they are generated by a model, other users may receive similar or identical text for the same document, and we make no claim of ownership over them.
- The service's own code, design and name remain ours or our licensors'. The source code is published under its own licence on GitHub; these terms do not restrict what that licence allows.
9. Availability and changes
- The service is provided as it is and as it is available. We do not promise any level of uptime. It depends on third-party providers whose quotas, outages and model changes are outside our control.
- We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of the service at any time.
- Usage counters, rate limits and the daily caps are kept in the server's memory and reset when it restarts. Credit balances are not: they are kept in Stripe.
10. No warranty
To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including any warranty that the summaries are accurate, complete, fit for a particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in this section limits rights you have under consumer protection law that cannot be excluded, including under Brazil's Código de Defesa do Consumidor.
11. Limitation of liability
- To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss of profits, data, business or opportunity, arising from your use of the service or your reliance on a summary.
- To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you for all claims arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which is zero if you have only used the free tier.
- Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including liability for wilful misconduct or for rights you have as a consumer under the law of the country where you live.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Brazil. Disputes will be brought before the competent courts in Brazil. If you are a consumer, nothing in this section takes away the protections of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, or your right to bring a claim in your local courts where that law gives you one.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the current version. Your continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms; if you do not, stop using the service.
